Hey fellow souls, my name is Hsiao-Yen (pronounced, ‘shāo-yen’) 🌿

Apart from being the designer and maker behind Eclectica, I’ve been the psycho-spiritual blogger and trauma-informed peer-mentor behind the instagram blog @theeternalbeginner since 2016. Walking beside our community of over 30k other souls dying to be reborn, after trauma and dark nights of the soul alike, it’s been my privilege to share my own story, along with the insights and tools that have aided me in my journey of inner x outer healing as a neurodivergent trauma-survivor (AuDHD x cPTSD), living with chronic illness (MCAS, hEDS, POTS) through online courses, circles, and mentorship.

The community I built on Instagram was my sole channel for self-expression, creativity, and financial security for a long time. That was until my soul called me, after 8 years of pouring myself into that path, to eject entirely from the perpetual hamster wheel of algorithm-chasing content creation (even in the healing and spiritual communities) and root back into my physical life as I prepared to marry my partner (and now husband) of 10 years. That’s when one door closed and this one opened…

Just as I was reaching my burnout peak with my online business, by the tides of fate, my own struggle to find ethically and sustainably made earrings for our wedding led to Eclectica’s creation (full story here). I can’t tell you how thankful I am for that divine redirection. Because after nearly a decade of constant hustling, I now find myself so much more aligned with the rich enoughness of creating ethical, sustainable, non-toxic, symbolic adornments with my hands, that help others to feel more fully expressed, and help me to finally live the physically present, unplugged life my burnt-out being desperately needs.
